To go on holiday to the sunny east island Bornholm in Denmark. Exploring the island with the bike and having geological favourite excursions.

If you like to have a felictious holiday, Bornholm and your bicycle is the ideal combination for that. The Denish Island in the Baltic Sea offers over 155miles(205km) long bicycle paths along the see and beach, through forest and fields.

In Bornholm you will have the oppurtunity to see all kind of scandinavian types of nature: Sea, rocks and cliffs, sandy beaches and dunes - also natur forests, beech and fir, pastures,fields, lakes, ponds and fens.
In August we will expect a temperature between
68°F -77F°(20-25 °C) with a lot of sun and wind.

We will arrive with the train from Copenhagen or with the car(car sharing is possible, so you do not need a car). Of course you also can fly to Europe and then take the train or rent a car to get on the island. Our tour starts at the capital Rønne. We will rent bicycles and gaze on our first trip at the colourful houses with their typical red-roofs, also at the white round-churches on hills, as well as the green of the pastures, forests and the multifarious blue of the sea.

From our first accommodation we will explore the different kinds of granite on the west and north coast. On the way to the coast we will gaze at round-churches and stop at a smokehouse to enjoy a fresh cured herring. If you like to exchange the bike for the ship you are very welcome to make e a day-trip to the "peas-island" Christiansø.

In the second week we will have a look at the south of the island Dueodde, which has one of the most beautiful Scandinavians beaches. In former times the Danish people exported the sand world-wide to build sand glasses! Today Dueodde is known to be a  paradise beach. 15 miles(25km) long, so it is not a problem to find a place to relax!
But also famous geological structures are located in the south of the island. We will search for fossils, that is why everyone should bring his or her hammer.
 
We will be placed in 2 or more bedrooms in the Danish "Vandrerhjeme"(youth hostels). Those "Vandrerhjeme" are clean and comfortable hostels and they are located in nice areas( in Rønne und Dueodde closed to the beach). The rooms usually have a washbasin; bathroom and lavatory are on the corridor. We will receive breakfast and dinner every day. Lunch is not provided, so we will have a snack or something else for lunch.

As a group we will make excursions to interesting geological areas and also discuss about evolution and creation. Our guide Dr. Martin Ernst will give respectively competent explanations.

Planned are excursions and trips with the bike together(about 12-37miles(20-60km) daily, in a flat and billowy terrain), as well as relaxing and resting at the beach for a couple of days. For voluntary lectures about the topic: "Thinking and believing" we will have bible studies at particular evenings in a room of the hostel. Of course you also will be able to have individual time to enjoy your holiday.

In these days we will have the opportunity to experience beauty and a lot of interesting things. Knowingly we want to place Jesus and his cheery gospel in the middle of your holidays.
