Gorges du Verdon
The Gorges du Verdon dehisce like a enormous wound out of the earth's surface. In a dizzy depth the river meanders its way, like a jade-green band, through the canyon. In the actual canyon, the river Verdon flows, mainly through Jurassic lime, to the depth of 2296 feet(700m), before he flows, after a journey of 13 miles(21km) in the Lac de Sainte-Croix. 9186 feet(2800m) high in the massif of Trois Evêches the Verdon springs up, and down to the present day he is still be able to rinse over 800m^3 per second. At the Sestrière´s massif, which is next to the Allo pass and over 7053 feet(2150m) high, the river Verdon measures a length of 124 miles(200km) and forms the main influx to the river Durance. The Grand Canyon du Verdon is in comparison to his American pendant smaller, but therefore his vegetation is more significantly luxurious.
