The Kaiserstuhl - the hot Vulcan in the Upper Rhinerift
The Kaiserstuhl area is till today the warmest area in Germany. Many experts appreciate the good wine form the sunny southwest of Germany! But only a few know, that the Kaiserstuhl is an extinct volcano. On our hike we will have the opportunity to reconstruct the volcanic eruption.
By public transportation or cars we will arrive at the Kaiserstuhl. We will hike by foot and explore the locate geology. The excursion is made for everyone - for laymen as well - The explanations are generally comprehensible, so no precognition is needed.
Equipment: Clothes well adapted for the weather, rucksack and hammer(for the minerals). The cost are 18 EUR. You will get all needed information about the excursion after having singed up. When the excursion is over, there will be an opportunity for winetasting.

Our hike will run through vineyards, pastures and woods around the Kaiserstuhl, where we will be able to fix your eyes on geological interesting places.
On this excursion you will learn how by the collide of the African with the European tectonic plate fault zones next to the Alps arose. Therefore magma pressed forward to the earth's crust. As well we will explore different and interesting volcanic rocks of the Kaiserstuhl.
