Pellworm - the green island between low and high tide
Already in spring it is possible to observe the first moving of tidal flats or to explore the fascinating island by bike.
The island Pellworm located in the North Sea (North of Germany, closed to the harbour city Hamburg) has survived a catastrophic history, which can't be told by the first view. The island was flooded in 1634 and what is left of the ancient is called today the island Pellworm.
The last storm tide which flooded Pellworm completely was on the 3rd to the 4th February in 1825.
In the geology there are interesting sequences of rocks which document the former storm tides. On Pellworm we will deal with the area of the conflict between "thinking and believing" and discuss what kind of role catastrophes played in the past and what they can tell us today.
We will residence in 2 summer cottages which are covered with real reed. A homely atmosphere will be perfect to relax and to think and study about God's word.
- Please be not worried about the floods:) -
